Master Bath: After

What? Did y'all want to see this or something?

I figured it was time. Sources and more details later this week.

All photos by AB Chao, except sink detail and towel detail in photo collage. Those beauties are by Mr. Ben Corda.

That wall paper is TO DIE! Also, love love love the bathtub area ! Every 'job' in the bathroom has its very own zone. It's almost like you planned it!

It was worth the wait. You are the real deal Ms. Chao. Dying to know the practical implications of that lovely tub. A tiny piece of me mourns for your old bathroom, but you've been true to the spirit of your house, whose vernacular I've always loved. Bravo!

LOVE. Would you mind telling us about the walls? I am weirdly obsessed with needing to know if the horizontal boards were there under drywall/plaster all along or if that is a treatment you envisioned from the beginning. (I do not know why. I admit it's a problem. I'm seeking help. Thank you.)

As someone who lives with out a shower (bathtub only), welcome back to 1919! Showers are so over-rated.

Gorgeous. Can we please, please, please talk about whether it was a gigantic deal or not to completely move your plumbing around?
August 21, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterLily Beth
Thanks, nice people! I was hoping you'd like it. I can't wait to show you the details.

@Carole: There was tile, then concrete, then expanded metal, then wallpaper, then sheetrock, then the shiplap boards you see. It took a very long time to get there.

@Ryan: There's a hand shower on the faucet! It's very convenient.

@Lily Beth: It was no big deal since we have a pier & beam house AND we weren't moving very far. Also, the tub fittings moved to exactly where the old sink fittings were.

August 22, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterPatty
@Patty: It's in the other bathroom, where the shower is. :)

Do you mind if I take up residence in your bathroom?

How often is your house as camera-ready as in all of your photos? Do you have a trick to make sure child + husband don't mess with your work? No matter how nicely I try to put things together, nothing stays in it's place, and other people's clutter begins to encroach. Any tips?

Oh my, you are so good at what you do. This might be one of the best makeovers I have seen in a long, long time (and I LOOK at a lot of pretty interiors all day long). Your use of materials and attention to detail and scale is just amazing. Congratulations! And yes of course, I am, like others, waiting with bated breath for all the details...especially on that wallpaper!!!!

I want white plank wood walls with diagonal wood floors. Now. Anywhere. Everywhere. With little yellow things.

What happened to the big wall sink of my dreams though?
August 23, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterBen
Love love the bath. And Campbell's wallpaper. Though, is it weird that Vince pees staring at a picture of his daughter everyday? Inquiring minds want to know
